The FGEF Secretariat

 

   
   

The FGEF Secretariat is a streamlined body of 10 permanent staff. It is responsible for:

  • Examining and following up projects financed by the FGEF;
  • Preparing and implementing the Steering Committee's decisions;
  • Sectoral relationships with institutional, scientific, NGO and economic partners;
  • Follow-up of the GEF, the Multilateral Fund under the Montreal Protocol and sectoral relationships with bilateral and multilateral funding agencies.

    Working as a separate body within the French Development Agency (AFD), the Secretariat uses the AFD's accounting and financial services as well as the network of AFD local agencies.
