Land degradation

Land degradation is the outcome of climatic variations and human activities that damage ecosystems in arid zones.

The phenomenon simultaneously affects biodiversity and the social and economic living conditions of human populations.

The FGEF's actions largely focus on the countries of the Sahara and the Sahel. Funds are provided as a priority to local projects that aim to strengthen the resilience of ecosystems or to reverse the process of desertification where this is still possible. Agro-ecological projects in particular are given a high priority.
