Preserving the ozone layer

The FGEF secretariat is responsible for the implementation of projects concerning protection of the ozone layer and submitted by France to the Montreal Protocol Multilateral Fund.

These are projects designed to phase out ozone-depleting substances (ODS) in developing countries.

We have four methods of intervention:

  • Assistance to the development of country programmes: inventories of ODS uses in the different sectors,
  • Assistance to the identification of investment projects: listing the enterprises concerned and assessing their technical and financial needs for phasing out ODS,
  • Implementing investment projects: conversion of industrial equipment or production processes,
  • Technical assistance, training, public awareness programmes and institutional capacity-building.
