Cameroun Visite Quartier Briqueterie
The project for sustainable management of waste electrical and electronic equipment in Cameroon (WEEECAM) was featured in a report on Telesud, the French language pan-African television network

The report shows the daily lives of those involved in the WEEECAM project in Cameroon. The country is experiencing rapid economic and population growth, which is generating more and more waste. Most electrical and electronic equipment waste (WEEE) is managed by the informal sector. However, this unregulated activity is not without risk: reckless dismantling and incineration of equipment releases harmful gases into the atmosphere that affect the environment and human health.

The aim of the WEEECAM project is to create legal structures for processing this dangerous waste so as to limit the harmful effects, while also narrowing the digital divide in the population.
