Soft solutions to combat coastal erosion in Senegal
The FFEM has made the resilience of aquatic and coastal ecosystems one of its key priorities. To this end, it’s funding a project in Senegal, Togo and Benin to develop soft solutions to combat coastal erosion. The project is being run by the Dakar Ecological Monitoring Centre (CSE), with technical support from the IUCN. France’s Coastal Protection Agency is lending its expertise to the project, in particular to help implement soft solutions and rebuild dunes. In this joint interview, we take a closer look at the Saint-Louis Marine Protected Area (MPA) pilot site in Senegal.
