Working towards a Global Plastics Treaty: showcasing FFEM-supported projects for sustainable management of plastics

From 29 May to 2 June 2023, Paris is hosting the second session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC), which is aiming to develop an international legally binding instrument to end plastic pollution. This meeting, referred to as INC-2, represents a crucial step in global efforts to tackle the problem. In line with its strategy focused on circular solutions and pollution control, the FFEM is playing a key role by actively supporting innovative projects promoting a sustainable circular model that includes practical steps to reduce plastic pollution at source. Here is a recap on three of these projects.

Spotlight on the promising initial results from the “PRM2” project, uniting a concerted regional approach with socio-environmental resilience

17 March saw the holding of the second Steering Committee meeting for the project “Preserve the biodiversity of Mabi-Yaya & Strengthen the socio-economic development of the Mé” (PRM2) aiming to promote a concerted regional approach through the development of zero deforestation industries, reconciling sustainable development and the preservation of natural resources.
