For nearly thirty years, the FFEM has been supporting the conservation and enhancement of biodiversity and the sustainable management of agricultural and forest territories; these two areas of intervention have been strengthened under the new 2023-2026 strategy. Research and forest management projects in Central Africa supported for ten years are in line with this. Pilot projects, Dynafor and P3Fac are strong environmental initiatives that have leveraged long-standing experience and unique expertise in the sustainable management of these industrial timber forests.
The link between people and nature is key in the structuring of these projects; forest territories are understood in their environmental reality but also socio-culturaleconomic, including the activities and future of local communities and indigenous peoples living in and through these territories.
