IN FOCUS - Carbon finance : a level for a sustainable future

Carbon finance represents a key opportunity in the global fight against climate change and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. In this context, the FFEM plays a pivotal role by supporting project developers who mobilize carbon finance and by backing innovative initiatives since the early 2000s to contribute to the implementation of the Kyoto Protocol. It has thus supported several projects under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and initiatives related to Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD and REDD+).
