Marine ecosystems: conservation of the biodiversity of deep-sea seamounts
Published on
The FFEM publishes a new guide on the conservation of biodiversity in offshore seamounts. This book is a synthesis of the results obtained by the project “Conservation and sustainable exploitation of ecosystems of seamounts and hydrothermal springs in the south-west of the Indian Ocean beyond areas of national jurisdiction” supported by FFEM and IUCN.
The knowledge accumulated during the various missions carried out in the framework of this project is intended to be shared through this guide, in order to support the establishment of an international governance and management framework for these hitherto little-known environments.
