Gilé National Reserve in Mozambique
Published on

The Gilé National Reserve is located in the Zambezia region of Mozambique. Despite a relatively well-preserved habitat, the reserve faces concerning biodiversity degradation.
Between 2009 and 2017, the FFEM supported two programs: the first aimed at rehabilitating the reserve through a co-management agreement between the Ministry of Tourism and the International Foundation for Wildlife Management (IGF); the second focused on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD).
