Marine ecosystems: Methodological guide for mangrove restoration

The large number of mangrove conservation or restoration initiatives at the moment reflects a real enthusiasm
for this iconic ecosystem of intertropical coastal areas.

If it is justified by the multiple functions provided by these specialized brackish water forests at the global level (carbon sequestration) and local (reduction of climate change impacts, support to the local economy, etc.), this enthusiasm is not always related to the importance of their degradation which has on average significantly improved over the last 20 years (with significant contrasts depending on the country) (...)
The French Global Environment Facility (FFEM), like other donors, has supported multiple projects worldwide, as part of its strategy on the resilience of aquatic ecosystems, dedicated to the protection, mangrove management and restoration. (...)
