The Zembo project is set to transform mobility in Kampala by offering electric motorcycles to replace the traditional thermal "boda-bodas," which are responsible for pollution and accidents. By providing accessible electric motorcycles through a rental and sales model, the company offers a cleaner and more economical alternative while contributing to the growth of sustainable mobility. Zembo has established a network of charging stations powered by renewable energy sources, including hydroelectricity and solar power. This project delivers environmental, social, and economic benefits by increasing driver incomes, creating local jobs, and reducing CO2 emissions. FFEM support has enabled the start-up to launch its concept and gain visibility, thereby facilitating its development and attracting financing for expansion.
